Located in the grounds of the Niagara Falls State Park, Old Fort Niagara was originally constructed by the French in 1726 and has also been controlled by the British. The site has been restored and includes the oldest building in the Great Lakes region. Visitors can explore the various buildings and view the historical displays and musket demonstrations. Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D Martin House is one of roughly six historic buildings that were constructed by Lloyd Wright in the Buffalo area. It serves as a good example of his prarie style. There are other structures on the complex, including the Barton House, a gardener's cottage, and a covered walkway that connects the main house to the conservatory.
