    Cave of the Winds
    The Cave of the Winds, located on Goat Island, provides visitors with a unique perspective of the falls. A series of wooden walkways and an elevator takes guests through the rock escarpment to view the falls from the bottom. This is a 'wet' experience but raincoats are provided.

    Allegany State Park-Quaker Area
    The Quaker Area of Allegany State Park features a sandy beach for swimming and fishing and a number of trails for hiking, biking and cross country skiing in the winter. Smowmobilers are also drawn here for the roughly 90 miles of snowmobile tracks. Camping is also possible here, with 189 campsites and 230 cabins, 30 of which are winterized. Located in Salamanca, NY.

    Allegany State Park-Red House Area
    The Red House Area in Allegany State Park has a swimming beach, hiking and equestrian trails that double as cross country ski trails in the winter and a full service cottage accommodation for visitors to use. There are also a number of campsites and 128 winterized cabins for those winter-time visitors.

    Tifft Nature Preserve
    Tifft Nature Preserve features 265 acres of trails and boardwalks, man made lakes and a 75-acre fresh water marsh. It serves as the environmental education site for the Buffalo Museum of Science, and offers hiking, picnicking, birdwatching, and cross-country skiing in the winter.

    Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens are set in an 1890s Victorian domed glass conservatory. The gardens feature plants and flowers from all over the world.
